Gotham Baseball was founded on April 9, 2005.
It has been and is many things; a print magazine, a digital magazine, a popular website with a message board, and a podcast. But at its core, it’s simply a celebration of New York Baseball. The “past, present and future of the New York Game,” as our tagline goes.
We had our fans from the get-go, as Amazon.com tabbed our print magazine as one of the Top 10 New Magazines of 2005 (scroll down to see us at #6, the only sports magazine on the list), We published as a print-only product from 2005-2008, which is now part of the permanent archive at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s A. Bartlett Giamatti Research Center in Cooperstown, NY.
“We believe [Gotham Baseball] would be a valuable addition to our library collection.”
– James L. Gates, Librarian, National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum
We’ve tried our hand at broadcast with a great deal of success, as well as bringing back the magazine in digital form. Now with a new website design, we’re hoping that we can reach even more NY baseball fans than ever. So come on down to our virtual stoop, let us know what you like and don’t like, and what you’d like to see more of.
